Stalemate in Korea

Stalemate and static warfare followed the fighting at Imjin and the UN pursued both a campaign of strategic bombing and a naval blockade of North Korea. In June, the Soviet Union appeared to support negotiotions and these began at Kaesong in July 1951. No deal was reached, and there was a difficulty over the exchange of prisoner-of-war.
